Jenny Hulme is a ceramic artist based in London.
“My practice explores the tension between balance and stillness, surface and structure.
Materiality and process are central to my approach; ideas evolve through drawing, collage, and printmaking before being realised in clay. I’m particularly interested in how painterly surfaces and line can be integrated through glaze and slip techniques. My work reflects a dialogue between the architectural and the organic—bridging the built environment with the natural world, and drawing inspiration from both landscape and industry.
With a background in fashion and textiles, and a previous career in womenswear buying, I bring a sensitivity to colour, form, and surface to my work.
Influenced by minimalism, constructivism, and geometric abstraction, my pieces resist rigidity—straight lines waver, introducing rhythm, movement, and a sense of connection.
I aim to create objects that invite touch and contemplation, enriching the spaces they inhabit”.
